About This Course
Animation is an emerging medium of communication. More and more students are aspiring to learn and make a career in this domain. However, the animation training is expensive. One of the reasons is the high cost of proprietary software. To create a sustainable solution for animation skill development, this course is designed using an open source 3D animation tool: Blender. Individuals interested in developing skill sets for 3D animation should take this course in order to learn the nuances of 3D animation and Blender.
The course has 8 weeks of content in all, which cover the basics of modelling, texturing, lighting, and animation. The course comprises slow paced video tutorials, quizzes, activities, and hands-on assignments. In the end, the participants need to submit a small animation clip. This clip has to be created using the principles of animation and the Blender skills taught in the course.
This course is a prerequisite to other courses on 3D visualization topics which are offered on IITBombayX.
